This appointment is designed for clients whose hair has a complex color or chemical history. A strand test allows your stylist to safely evaluate how your hair will respond before booking a major color transformation.

A strand test is recommended if your current hair has been lightened and recolored multiple times, contains previous box color, requires significant lightening of previously colored hair, has undergone corrective color services, or has been treated with chemical straightening, perms, or relaxers. It may also be recommended for hair with extensive bleach history or visible signs of compromised integrity.

Since all appointments at The Hype are booked as hourly packages, we offer a complimentary Standalone Consultation to help new clients determine which package option fits their hair goals best.

For clients with extra long length and/or high-density hair that requires extended time for a full haircut experience. If your hair takes 30+ minutes to blow dry at home, this appointment is designed for you.

2 Hour Package

For clients with natural texture who want a haircut designed to enhance and support their curls.

Includes:

• Full curl assessment + in-depth consultation

• Dry and/or wet cutting techniques based on your curl type

• Customized styling session and product education

3 Hour Package

For dimensional, blended, or transformative color. Best for shoulder-length hair with average density.

3 Hour Package

For maintaining your dimensional color between larger balayage or transformation appointments. Typically scheduled every 3–4 months to keep your color intentional, bright, and blended.

• Focused brightness through the hairline (money piece)

• Toner/gloss to refine tone and enhance dimension

• Haircut to maintain shape and integrity

2 Hour Package

For solid, one-tone color maintenance. This service applies one custom color formula at the root and can be pulled through the ends to refresh tone. Designed for maintaining an established color — not correcting previous color or creating multi-dimensional results.

This service does not include bleach or lightener.

• Root touch-up (up to 1 inch of new growth)

• Custom treatment

For traditional brightness focused around the face and crown. Lightener is applied near the root and wrapped in foils, concentrated around the face and top of the head. Does not include highlights throughout the full head.

For traditional foil highlights on longer or thicker hair. Lightener is applied near the root and wrapped in foils throughout the full head. Best for hair below the shoulder or with fuller density.

1 Hour Package

For guests interested in hair extensions who are new to The Hype or currently have extensions installed by another stylist. Your stylist will assess your hair, discuss your goals, recommend an extension method, and provide a personalized investment estimate.

Includes:

• Comprehensive extension consultation

• Assessment of your natural hair and scalp health

• Evaluation of any existing extension install

• Discussion of extension methods, maintenance, and lifestyle considerations

• Color matching (if applicable)

• Personalized investment quote and timeline

Note: All extension installations require this consultation prior to booking.

1 Hour Package

For established clients of The Hype maintaining their extension install. This service repositions your existing wefts closer to the scalp for a refreshed, secure fit.

If your extensions require a full removal and reinstall, your stylist will let you know and your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Includes:

• Extension move-up (beads loosened, wefts repositioned, beads retightened)

• Maintenance of your current install

• Light refresh and styling

Note: This appointment is for established Hype clients only. If your extensions were installed by another stylist, please book an Extension Consultation instead.

3 Hour Package

For clients wanting to add lasting curl, wave, or texture to hair at or above the shoulders — including barber cuts, pixies, bobs, and traditional perms. If your hair extends past your shoulders or is especially dense, additional time may be required.

Includes:

• Full perm service

• Haircut to refine and shape the final result

• Shampooing & styling

4+ Hour Package

For clients with hair that extends beyond the shoulders. Longer hair requires significantly more time to section, wrap, process, and refine. Advanced wrapping techniques (such as piggyback wrapping) may be necessary to achieve consistent curl formation from root to end.

• Haircut to refine and shape the final result

• Shampooing & styling
