Every stylist at The Hype has their own pricing, strengths, and specialty.
The stylist who's right for a low-maintenance cut may not be the same one who specializes in a six-hour blonding transformation.
Browse stylist profiles on meet the team page to find your fit.
-
Package pricing means everything required to complete your service is included. No gratuity or add ons.
Services are structured in timed packages (1-hour, 2-hour, 3-hour, etc.) based on what your service requires. If your service takes a toner, a treatment, or a blowout, it's already in the package.
-
Not always — but if you're new to the studio or considering a color service, a strand test or stand-alone consultation before your first appointment is a great idea.
While all of our packages include a consultation as a part of your service, a strand test or stand alone consultation gives your stylist a chance to assess your hair, understand your goals, and recommend the right service and package. Click here to view these service packages.

ACADEMY FAQS
-
Graduates of The Hype Hair Academy earn a New Mexico Cosmetologist license. Our program is licensed and approved through the New Mexico State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists, which means your education meets all state requirements to sit for the licensing exam.
-
The Hype Hair Academy is licensed by the New Mexico State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists, which is the designation that matters for your education and career.
We are not federally accredited, and that distinction is often misunderstood. Accreditation is primarily tied to access to federal funding like Pell Grants and federal student loans; it is not a measure of educational quality or real-world readiness.
As a private academy, we have the ability to adapt our curriculum in real time — our students learn current techniques from working professionals.
-
Everything in the program is focused exclusively on hairstyling — cuts, color, dimensional techniques, blonding, texture services, extensions, styling, consultation skills, and the business side of actually building a clientele.
Because our academy operates inside a working salon, you're not learning in a simulation. You're surrounded by fully booked professionals doing advanced work in real time, from day one.
-
The program is 1,200 hours, completed part-time — 8 hours a day, 3 days a week. Most students graduate in about a year. We've intentionally designed the schedule this way because our students have lives outside of school, and we don't believe burning people out before they've even graduated serves anyone.
-
We accept a maximum of 5–6 students per cohort, with a 1:5 instructor-to-student ratio.
-
